Did the Hiding Place hide out in his bedroom during summer camp?
My son, like many other children, goes to overnight camp for a week. We try to start the process, the gathering of all of the suggested items to bring and then some, early with the hopes of being so well organized that we won't leave anything behind. Of course, we never seem to succeed in this task, which is okay, since we visit during the week for the parent night and take him whatever was forgotten. At the camp, the mosquitoes and the chiggers are pretty relentless. We can't seem to ever control the chigger attack on my son's body, but we are usually somewhat success with the mosquitoes by way of a net. The netting is suspended from the top of poles taped to each corner of the cot. This method seems to protect them from being eaten alive while asleep. I was not home when my husband and son left to go to camp, I was picking up another one of our children at another over night camp. Anyway, when I returned from picking my other child, I noticed that the poles (the ones used for the netting) were laying across one of our chairs on the porch. Of course, I panicked and thought how in the world was my son going to protect himself. So, I immediately, called my husband who informed me that he was not going to drive down to that camp to deliver poles to my son (camp is around one hour and a half from our home) and that he, my son, would be creative in the hanging of the net. After, I calmed down and was assured that the mosquitoes were not going to take my son away. I started thinking about what else had he not packed. My mind went directly to the Hiding Place. Well to my surprise and delight the Hiding Place went with him to camp and was read when he had some down time.
